Celebrate the 4th of July in Stillwater, Minnesota

Please NOTE: This year’s 4th of July festivities will NOT include FIREWORKS. Because of global supply chain issues due to COVID the City of Stillwater and many others are not able to find a place to purchase the fireworks. The GOOD NEWS is that the City of Stillwater announced today that they WILL have:

🇺🇸 Civil War Cannons on Display and a Fly Over
🇺🇸 FREE Live Music in Lowell Park/Riverfront
🇺🇸 FREE Jazz Orchestra at Pioneer Park Independence Day Event Calendar Listing: https://events.discoverstillwater.com/…/stillwater-4th…/

Celebrate independence day in a American historic river town! The City of Stillwater typically on a huge fireworks display over the St. Croix River offering views from anywhere downtown; however this year due to COVID’s affect on supply chains there are NO FIREWORKS.

There is still plenty going on to have an enjoyable holiday in our beautiful Americana small town on the river – stay overnight! During the day take a cruise on the river, ride the historic trolley, eat ice cream, relax and browse all the boutiques on Main Street!

Please note: Some businesses will be CLOSED on the 4th of July.

Find a spot in the riverfront Lowell Park to enjoy the free live music! The City of Stillwater has hired bands –  Junk FM to play 5:30-7:00pm and a rock and roll band, Bootleg to play 8-9:30pm. There will also be Civil War Cannons from Batter 1, 1st US Artillery at Mulberry Point (northern tip of Lowell Park,  201 Water St.) You can also catch a free live jazz orchestra 7-9pm while sitting in Pioneer Park which is just above downtown with beautiful views of the river. Pack a picnic (psst…there is an open container law so yes, you can bring alcoholic beverages within the park, too. Please note, this does NOT mean you can walk from bar to bar with a drink). Enjoy food and beverages on one of our many outdoor dining decks.

Celebrate our country and locally independent businesses by shopping in our stores and dining at our cafes during the week of July 1st – 7th which is a national celebration of small independently owned businesses.

Here’s a map of the parking lots as helper in planning out your desired place to park.

Have a safe and wonderful time!
