FUN STUFF – Hop on the Trolley! Start your visit with a 45 minuted narrated StillwaterTrolley tour that gives an insightful look at Stillwater’s history and local lore.  The Biercycle  is a great adventure that holds up to 13 people pedaling for a fun way to see town.

PARKS – Burn off some energy in one of Stillwater’s many parks Lowell Park is right along the river and has a walking path. Pioneer Park is up the hill on 2nd Street and has picnic tables, a playground and fabulous views.

THE HISTORIC LIFT BRIDGE – You can walk across this bridge into Wisconsin. This national historic Stillwater landmark is scheduled to become a pedestrian only bridge by 2017.

CREATIVE CLASSES– Do your kids love to cook, knit, or paint? Drop in to paint pottery or on canvas at Kari’s Create & Paint Studio, try glass fusing at Alchemy Arts Studio or seek out classes at Darn Knit Anyway and Cooks of Crocus Hill.

GET ON THE WATER – Yes, you can rent a pontoon for the family or jump on board an authentic Paddlewheel Cruise for lunch or dinner.   Another option is to rent kayaks, cross-country skis or snowshoes from 45-Degrees located right on Main Street.

SWEETS & TREATS – Give the kids a treat at one of the Historic District’s many candy stores, ice cream or yogurt parlors, pizza places or hot dog places! YUM!

Gateway Trailside

If you get hungry or thirsty while biking, be sure to seek out this food truck along the trail to re-energize! Access the food truck via the Gateway Trail near mile marker 15 between hwy 96 and Lansing Ave. If you are on the Brown’s Creek trail, it’s located just north of the intersection of the Gateway and Brown’s Creek trail.

Stillwater’s lift bridge (1931) spans the St. Croix River between Stillwater and Houlton, WI and is one of three remaining lift bridges in the U.S. today. Construction is underway to build a new bridge nearby and use the Historic Lift Bridge as a walking/biking bridge. Check out the lift bridge schedule to see when you can watch it go up/down!

Future plans: As a professional theatre in the St. Croix Valley, The 300-seat Zephyr Theatre at the old train depot will produce productions of the highest quality that are visually, acoustically, and artistically beautiful. We will create and revive classic musicals and plays, while incorporating music, musical cultures, and dance into the live arts in meaningful ways.
