HOMETOWN FOR THE HOLIDAYS – Month-long event!

For over 165 years, Stillwater, the Birthplace of Minnesota, has been entertaining holiday visitors and locals along Main Street.  “Hometown for the Holidays” runs on weekends from Black Friday to New Years Eve.  Enjoy dazzling lights, a window decorating contest, strolling Santa and Victorian Carolers along historic Main Street, live reindeer with Santa and sleigh, Victorian teas at the Lowell Inn,  free horse-drawn carriage rides along the St. Croix River, shopping specials, Santa brunches at the Water Street Inn and Santa lunches at the Dock Cafe, and more.     Event dates and times TBD, please check back.

FREE HORSE-DRAWN CARRIAGE RIDES

As part of our “Hometown for the Holidays”, we invite you to enjoy a free horse-drawn carriage ride along the St. Croix River.  Start your Carriage ride on Nelson Street, just off Main between the Dock Cafe and Tin Bins.   Pick up your free tickets for the carriage rides in most Main Street stores and restaurants or at  Stillwater lodging properties.  Rides are free, tips are appreciated.    Dates and times to be advised. Please check back.

BIERCYCLE CAROLING TOURS

Get in the holiday spirit – Come Caroling on the Biercycle as you pedal through downtown Stillwater.   Every Saturday. Nov 29 thru Dec. 27 at 2:00 and 3:00pm.  $12.00 per person.  The Biercycle holds 13 people, with ten people pedaling.   Tours are weather permitting and reservations  are required.  651-300-2202.  Tours depart from Water Street/Myrtle (Just off Main St) near the Pedestrian walkway and restrooms.
Each tour includes free Chicago mix popcorn from Candyland.

LUNCH WITH SANTA at the Dock Cafe

The Dock Café, overlooking the St. Croix,  offers family fun with their 21st annual Lunch with Santa event. Reservations are required,  call 651-430-3770 to reserve a spot. Santa will also be available for visits at various shops along Main Street during the holiday weekends. Part of month-long Hometown for the Holidays in Stillwater.

STILLWATER ANNUAL TWINKLE PARADE

Kick the holiday season with this special children’s Twinkle Parade in downtown Stillwater. Meet at the Dock Cafe at 4PM and experience a fun celebration for kids with the kick off of the Teddy Bear Band performing before everyone marches in the parade along the river to the Lowell Park Gazebo and the tree lighting ceremony featuring Santa’s arrival on a fire truck, followed by fireworks. Free hot chocolate, cider, cookies and twinkle lights.
